Uniting people to pray in the communities of the Greater Sacramento Region.
CityPRAYS was formed out of the prayer group that came together to support and pray for the 2012 Luis Palau Sacramento Festival. The express purpose of forming CityPRAYS was to continue to unify, strengthen, and encourage believers to pray in and for the Sacramento Region. Since that time, CityPRAYS has continued to identify and bring together existing prayer ministries, and has developed three key elements to sustain and grow prayer relationships and activity:
- Sacramento Regional Prayer & Praise meetings draw together diverse people to seek God together and to call upon the Lord for his increased presence and work in our region.
- Prayer Leaders Fellowship identifies and honors leaders of church prayer ministries through a quarterly lunch or dinner that provides a relational time of encouragement, connecting and prayer.
- Gospel Advancing Prayer (GAP) Groups are community based groups equipping and growing prayer in the region through the development of prayer in local congregations, communities and regionally. Groups meet regularly to pray for the increased transformative impact through followers of Jesus in the church, the community and the culture.
CityPRAYS is a collaborative work of prayer leaders and pastors operating according to the prayer of Jesus Christ in John 17 and the reality expressed in Ephesians 4:4-6, that “there is One Body, One Spirit, just as also you were called in One Hope of your calling. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, One God and Father of all Who is over all and through all and in all.”
CityPRAYS is a part of The ACTS Group which is uniting the Church for collective impact that demonstrates and communicates the love of Jesus Christ throughout the Greater Sacramento Region.
